The Boots Pharmacists’ Association was created in 1973 by Boots pharmacists for Boots pharmacists and we pride ourselves on the support we give to our members. We are a listed trade union with an elected executive team from within our membership which is representative of a wide range of pharmacist’s roles in Boots. Benefits of membership include advice on professional issues via a one number advice line, support and representation in disciplinary and grievance meetings and legal protection insurance of up to £500,000. Disputes and disciplinaries can be a distressing time. You can feel alone; even isolated. As a loyal pharmacist working for the company for many years ,attending a disciplinary hearing can be an extremely worrying and daunting . In my case, it was an unintentional breach of security rules which made me feel isolated from my colleagues and managers. From the moment I contacted the BPA they were incredibly involved in my case, providing reassurance, guidance, representation and better than anything someone to talk to in confidence.
